TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please note that each state, county, or municipality may have specific building codes and regulatory requirements. As such, your house plan will need to be modified to comply with these local standards. This is especially relevant in areas prone to coastal conditions, seismic activity, extreme wind, or heavy snow. In such cases, a licensed structural engineer will be required to provide the necessary calculations and additional drawings.

Boyatt Design authorizes the use of its plans on the condition that you fully adhere to all applicable local building codes, ordinances, regulations, and requirements, including obtaining necessary permits and undergoing inspections during construction. We strongly recommend consulting your local building department for the most up-to-date and region-specific requirements.

All pre-drawn plans provided by Boyatt Design / Boyatt Plans do not include a stamp from a licensed architect. If your local building department requires a stamped set of plans, you will need to engage a licensed architect or engineer to review and approve the plans accordingly.

COPYRIGHT

All the plans on this website are protected under the Federal Copyright Act, Title XVII of the U.S. Code, and Chapter 37 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Boyatt Design retains title and ownership of all original documents. The blueprints you license are for your personal use only and cannot be used or resold by any other individual.

Reproduction of these plans, in whole or in part, including copying or creating derivative works for any reason without prior written permission, is strictly prohibited. Purchasing a set of home plans provides a limited license to use that specific set for the construction of one dwelling. This purchase does not transfer any copyright or ownership interest to the buyer. Additional sets purchased at a reduced price or as part of a multi-set package do not grant a license for more than one construction project. Reproducible sets are also protected under copyright law and carry the same restriction on usage.

If you wish to use any plans more than once, please contact Boyatt Design to obtain a release and license for extended use. For PDF, CAD, and Reproducible formats, a license to make copies is granted; however, making photocopies of blueprints is illegal as these are copyrighted materials.

The copyright and licensing of home plans for construction are designed to protect all parties involved, respecting the intellectual property of the original architect or designer. Copyright laws have strengthened over recent years, and willful infringement may result in penalties up to $1,000,000, including attorney fees, damages, and loss of profits.
